Ms. Dana Siverio has been teaching dance for over 20 years. At the age of 16, Ms. Dana was a principal dancer for the New Jersey Tap Ensemble. She studied at the Mercer County College for Dance, majoring in modern dance and ballet. Ms. Dana was trained in tap by many legends including Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Deborah Mitchell and Karen Callaway. She has been directing ASIT for the past 17 years. Ms. Dana has trained many students from the ages of 3 until their senior year of high school. Some of these students have continued their passion for dancing by becoming professional dancers or owning studios themselves. She loves working with children of all ages and looks forward to many more exciting years with her studio.
Ms Patti has trained in various classical and street styles of dance. She graduated from The University of Arts with a certificate of dance in 2014. She has choreographed for multiple venues in New York City, such as, Fashion in Motion by Trunk under the mentorship of Wes Veldink, The Young Choreographer's Festival 2016, Peridance Showcases, Leg Up On Life, Wise Fruit, Ballet Inc and Sybarite Showcases. Patti is currently a company member of The SHINSA Collective, under Bo Park. She was also a featured dancer in New Balance’s Catalog Launch event and danced in American Idol contestant, JAX's music video. She is very excited to be teaching at A Step In Time Dance Studio.
Nick Rubiano has been dancing for over 10 years. While Nick has been trained in jazz, ballet and tap, his specialty is hip hop. Nick has performed in venues including Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden and the Apollo Theater. He has danced with artists such as Camila Cabello, Pharell, Will.i.Am, and most recently with DJ Khaled on MTV'S TRL. He has appeared on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. This will be Nick's fourth year teaching hip hop at A Step In Time. He is looking forward to another great season!
Charlene (Chi-Chi) Smith
Growing up in a place as culturally rich as the South Bronx, Charlene (Chi-Chi) T. Smith’s upbringing was deeply rooted in the sounds of funk, soul, disco, gospel, hip hop, reggae and Latin music. Just after graduating from Rutgers University, Chi-Chi took off into the entertainment industry. Since her professional debut in 2005, she has worked with many of the industry’s top choreographers such as Hi Hat, Fatima Robinson, Rich and Tone, Jamaica Craft, Nu Stylz, Wayne Cilento, Buddha Stretch, and many more. Chi-Chi has traveled the world and made countless television appearances and live performances alongside the world’s top artists: Missy Elliot, LL Cool J, Janelle Monae, Salt n Pepa, Shakira, Snoop Dogg, Kelly Rowland, Diddy, Mary J. Blige and Gloria Gaynor. Throughout the years, she has maintained a steady stream of featured and leading roles in national network commercials as a dancer, as an actor, and also as choreographer such as: Playtex Bras, Verizon Fios, Nair, Wendy’s, Honey Nut Cheerios, Crest, Apple, Lee Jeans, Stride Gum and American Airlines. Her choreography credits include Honey Nut Cheerios ads, Comcast/Xfinity: “Beautifully Bilingual”, Nickelodeon Halo Awards 2016-2017, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and more! Chi-Chi made her Broadway debut at The Palace Theater in 2014 in “Holler if ya Hear Me” using the music and poetry of Tupac Shakur, directed by Tony winner Kenny Leon; choreographed by Tony winner Wayne Cilento. As a teaching artist, Chi-Chi is an adjunct professor at Pace and Rider Universities and is on faculty for the Apollo Theater Education Program. She enjoys delving deep into “Groove Theory” as she titles her hip hop foundation classes. The focus of her classes, everywhere she teaches, is keeping the groove in the dance.
